Mortgage banker Leonard “Buddy” Wineburgh was one of the early dealmakers in the 1970s rush of Chicago condominium conversions and a well-connected financier of property developments throughout the country.
Chief executive officer and chairman of Dwinn-Shaffer & Co., Mr. Wineburgh, 81, died of complications from melanoma on Saturday, May 17, at his Gold Coast home, said his son, Andrew.
