John Lee writes: Edward Grayson (obituary, Oct 1) was charming, witty and quite eccentric at times. I recall visiting him in his chambers at 4 Paper Buildings. After clearing a space for me to sit by removing large quantities of files and papers he said he wished me to engage in a “mind-dumping” exercise from which he would create one of his famous kite tails. As I spoke he scribbled notes in the most indecipherable writing. He then numbered the notes, produced a large pair of scissors and cut the paper into separate numbered pieces.
